Me, Myself, and Why

Me

Hello, I'm Séamus!

Me, Myself, and a Minolta

Myself

Born in the deep south of Ireland in Kerry and having moved to Pembrokeshire, Wales at the age of 10, my nickname amongst my friends became the very original "Irish". I moved to Cardiff and Edinburgh to study Geology and GIS, and now I work with satellite imagery for environmental modelling whilst living in Vienna, Austria. I don't speak Irish, Welsh, Gaelic, or Austrian-German very well, but I can get by with some.

I'm into photography and have a reasonably healthy obsession with an extinct camera brand in a dying format (Minolta, 35mm/120 film). So healthy in fact, I moderate for (and argue with) several groups revolving around them. I really like 'Reflexes', SLR's and TLR's, from Minolta, so there's some sort of irony in also having a Mirrorless camera from Sony for my digital hobby.

Why

I've started making a website to collate all the useless information I've found about Minolta, share some of my photography, research, and general interests, and do it in a way I can have a bit more fun with than on Social Media. Algorithms won't share my stuff to the wider world anywhere else, so why not make a website with some of my 'saved' free time instead.

This website will be pretty basic (apart from all my knowledge dumps). If you can read through the site and not have your head hurt, then I'm already doing well.
